SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran softball seniors Sydney Ouellette and Ashlyn Strother have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Second Team.

The duo represents the newest additions to Texas Lutheran's all-time CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-American selections - now at 57, including 17 in the sport of softball.

Ouellette earns Academic All-American honors for the third time in her career - posting a perfect 4.0 GPA in her undergraduate studies of Business Administration with an Accounting focus with a minor in Information Systems. Ouellette joins former teammate Kelly Jurden and Natalie Jones (Women's Cross Country and Track & Field) as the only Bulldogs to earn at least three Academic All-America honors.

Strother owns a 3.61 GPA in her undergraduate studies of Business Administration with an Accounting focus, earning her second career Academic All-America honor a week after her third career NFCA All-American honor.

For the second-straight year and for the third time in four years, TLU softball has had at least two student-athletes named CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-Americans. Ouellette and Strother along with former teammates, Kelly Jurden and Casey Martin, earned the honors in 2022.

This postseason marks the fifth time TLU softball has had multiple selections.
