KAYLA PRESLEY OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior guard from Kyle, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 12 through Sunday, February 18. SCAC Women's Basketball Release (Week 15)

Presley took over in the second half of the Bulldogs lone matchup of the week against Southwestern to close out the regular season. She poured in 17 of her career-high 23 points in the second half to help lift TLU to a three-point win over the Pirates and clinch the No. 2 seed for the upcoming SCAC Tournament. Presley shot a blistering 87.5 percent from the field connecting on 7-of-8 shots, including a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc. Additionally, Presley grabbed seven rebounds, dished out one assist and played tenacious defense to help secure the fourth 20-win season in program history.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore forward Layla Powell of Centenary averaged 13.5 points in the Ladies' final two games of the season at home against Schreiner and Trinity last week, highlighted by a season-high 22-points against the Mountaineers. Powell connected on 6-of-18 from the field in reaching double figures for the fifth time this season. Junior center Zoe Tomlinson of Colorado College led the Tigers to a 2-0 weekend to wrap up the regular season in a pair of wins over Austin College and Dallas. Tomlinson surpassed 1,000 career points on Friday against the 'Roos after a 21-point, 15 rebound performance. She is the 16th player in program history to reach that accomplishment and did it in only three seasons. She recorded both her 24th and 25th double-doubles which leads the entire NCAA. Sophomore guard Aniyah Burke of Southwestern led the Pirates with 19 points and added five assists and four rebounds in the season finale at Texas Lutheran last Friday. First year guard Macie Whitfield of St. Thomas was impressive for the Celts last weekend as the Celts faced off with top seeded Trinity and Schreiner to close out SCAC play. Whitfield posted an impressive 23.5 points per game, and shot an impressive 75 percent from the floor in the two games. She also added 10 rebounds, three assists, five steals, and three blocks on the week. First year guard Jamie Ruede of Trinity led the Tigers to a weekend sweep to close out the regular season, clinching the outright SCAC Regular Season Championship with the wins over St. Thomas and Centenary. Ruede averaged 19.5 points per game on 59.1 percent shooting that included a 9-for-16 (56.3%) performance from three-point range. She closed the regular season with one of her best performances of her rookie season, breaking Trinity's school record with eight three-pointers made against Centenary. Ruede went 8-of-10 from beyond the arc and tied her career-high with 27 points in just 23 minutes off the bench.
