CHASE MAUS OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Manor, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, October 13 through Tuesday, October 19. SCAC Golf Release (Week 4)
Maus earned individual medalist honors at the University of Dallas Crusader Invitational, which was contested at the 7,126 yard, par 72 Scissor Tail Golf Course at the WinStar Resort in Thackerville, Okla. Maus shot a final round 70 (-2) on Tuesday to move from fourth the atop the leaderboard following Tuesday's concluding round. The Bulldogs finished sixth as a team at the 13-team event.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Christian Rodriguez of Southwestern finished with a three-day total of 213 (69-72-72) to post a top 10 finish (tied for eighth) in the 120-player field at the prestigious Golfweek DIII Invite. Senior Jonathan Miller of St. Thomas finished in second place individually out of a field of 87 players at the UD Crusader Invitational. He shot rounds of 74 and 70 to lead the UST men to a second place finish amng a field of 13 teams. First-year Jackson Lehner of Dallas finished tied for third, along with teammate Trey Schneider, at the UD Crusader Invitational. Lehner shot rounds of 72 and 73 to finish with a two-day total of 145 (+1). The Dallas team finished tied for third with Howard Payne, nine shots behind tournament champion East Texas Baptist. Junior Daniel Nunez of Trinity paced the Tigers at the Golfweek DIII Invite with a tied for 43rd finish after rounds of 73, 76 and 74 (223, +10). Senior Zhao Yung Gu of Schreiner was tops amoung the Mountaineers contingent, placing tied for eighth with rounds of 72 and 75 (147, +3) at the UD Crusader Invitational. Sophomore Andrew Bennett of Centenary finished strong with a second-round 75 to move seven places up the leaderboard and finish tied for 35th at the UD Crusader Invitational.
