MARSHALL, Texas -- No. 9 Texas Lutheran softball dropped a 12-0 contest with No. 2 East Texas Baptist Friday afternoon at Bell Park at Taylor Field.
The loss ended a seven-game winning streak and a three-game winning streak against the Tigers.
East Texas Baptist (40-2) used 16 hits including two homers to claim the win. After an early pitcher's duel, the Tigers scored at least two runs in four of the final five innings.
TLU's Ashlyn Strother (19-1) took the loss, her first of the season, giving up three runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk.
Five runners reached base for the Bulldogs in the game, Tatum Seth, Reagan Hillis, and Linzee Leal recorded TLU's three hits.
The Bulldogs continue regional play later today as they face the winner of today's loser's bracket matchup between Chapman and Simmons. First pitch is scheduled for 4 PM. All streaming and live stats links available on tlubulldogs.com.
