IRVING, Texas - Texas Lutheran University, the tournament's top seed, won its eighth straight SCAC Softball Championship by defeating third-seeded Trinity University, 5-1 at Crusader Softball Field on the campus of the University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bulldogs struck for the game's first run in the bottom of the third as Texas Lutheran worked to manufacture an early lead. After Chassety Raines reached on a fielder's choice, she stole second and then advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt. She then scored on a single from Kelly Jurden.
- Bailey Hudgeons extended the Bulldog lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single to center.
- Trinity responded in the top half of the fifth when Jordyn Williams delivered an run-scoring single that scored Diamond Elizondo to make it 2-1.
- Answering in the bottom half of the fifth was Jurden who reached first on an error which allowed Raines to come around to score and extend the Bulldog lead to 3-1. Two batters later Casey Martin singled to push the lead to 4-1. Texas Lutheran added an RBI groundout in the sixth for to provide the final margin.
