EUGENE ROBINSON IV OF TEXAS LUTHERAN, a senior wide receiver from Lake Charles, La., has been selected the SCAC Football Special Teams Player-of-the-Week for games played Saturday, October 5. SCAC Football Release (Week 5)
Robinson broke both the school record and the SCAC record with a 102-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Saturday's 43-34 victory over Austin College. The senior had two returns for 127 yards total in the game and the kick return for a touchdown was the first of his career.
The previous TLU kick return record was held by Casey Davis who returned a kick 97 yards against East Texas Baptist in 2012. The SCAC record of 100 yards was set in 2008 when Caleb Urban of Trinity returned a kick 100 yards for a touchdown against Colorado College.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore placekicker/linebacker Vance Feuerbacher of Centenary did it all for the Gents on Saturday in their 35-14 home conference win over Lyon College as he was 5-for-5 on PAT's, punted twice for 68 yards, and kicked off six times for an average of 54.8 yards with one touchback. Feuerbacher was also the Gents' leading tackler on defense with 10 solo tackles (13 total tackles), had a 32-yard interception return for a TD, and had one pass breakup.
