NOAH HARRIS OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior defender from Missouri City, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, September 30th through Sunday, October 6th. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 6)
Harris played a big part in TLU posting a pair of SCAC clean sheets last week, securing a 5-0 win over Dallas on the road on Friday and scoreless draw at home against Austin College on Sunday. Harris and the TLU defense stifled the opposing attack limiting the Crusaders and ‘Roos to five total combined shots and just one shot on target, including zero in the win over Dallas. On the season, Harris and the Bulldogs defense haven’t allowed a single goal in SCAC play (three shutouts), have posted four-straight shutouts and produced clean sheets in five of the first eight fixtures, keeping the Bulldogs unbeaten through their first eight contests for the second straight season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Centenary first year goalkeeper Sebastian Lutin of Centenary continued his outstanding rookie campaign, registering 26 saves in two matches last week to bring his season total to an SCAC best 54 on the year. Lutin put together back-to-back double digit save performances, including a SCAC single game season high of 16 on the road at Colorado College on Sunday. His 16 saves are the most by a keeper since former Centenary goalie Sami Borchalli recorded 17 against Trinity back in October of 2022. Senior midfielder Alexander Ward of Colorado College led the Tigers in back-to-back shutouts against Ozarks and Centenary last weekend. Ward played 130 minutes over the two games as the Tigers' defense surrendered only eight combined shots and only four shots on goal. Ward also scored the game-winning goal against Ozarks on Friday evening. Senior goalkeeper Joshua Redding of Concordia became the program's all-time wins leader when he earned his 22nd win in a 3-1 victory over Schreiner. In total, Redding posted nine saves over two fixtures last weekend. Junior defender Raghav Sharma of Southwestern lifted the Pirates to a pair of SCAC wins last week, defeating Austin College on the road and Dallas at home. Sharma and the Pirates defense limited opponents to just nine shots on target and the junior also got involved offensively, scoring a goal and adding an assist in the two wins. Senior goalkeeper Cristo Gayoso of St. Thomas got the win in net for the Celts, making six saves, in a 2-1 road win at Centenary last Friday. Fifth year senior JonConnor Rule of Trinity led the Tigers to a pair of SCAC victories over the weekend, blanking McMurry at home before edging Concordia (TX) in a road win. Rule led the Tigers to a shutout win over McMurry, then added an assist on the equalizing goal against Concordia on Sunday night. The shutout against the War Hawks on Friday was the sixth of the season for Trinity's defense.
