HOUSTON, Texas -- Trinity University captured its fifth-straight SCAC Tournament title and 14th in program history with Sunday's 1-0 double overtime victory over Texas Lutheran University at SaberCats Stadium. After the two teams battled for the first 90 minutes of regulation and through another scoreless first overtime, Trinity's Michaela Bosco pushed one past the Texas Lutheran keeper, giving the Tigers the only goal they would need for the victory and a berth into next weekend's NCAA Tournament. Clara Richards assisted on the game-winner.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite Trinity holding a 6-2 shot advantage over the first 45 minutes, the two teams battled to a 0-0 halftime lead.
- Trinity finished with a 14-9 shot advantage, including a 5-3 edge in shots on goal. The Tigers attempted three corner kicks compared to two for the Bulldogs.

NOTABLES
- This match marked just the third time the women's championship match has gone to overtime, and the first since Trinity and Southwestern battled to a 0-0 penalty kick shootout in 2019.
- Senior forward Michaela Bosco was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Offensive Player. She had both the goals the Tigers scored this weekend, giving her seven tournament goals for her career - tied for the third-most all-time.
- Sophomore defender Lauryn Lewis was named SCAC Tournament Defensive MVP as she and the Trinity defense recorded two shutouts on the weekend, extending the Tigers SCAC Tournament shutout streak to 17 straight matches. Lewis played 195+ minutes over the tournament, including the full 105:35 in Sunday's title contest, and had five saves while maintaining two clean sheets.
- The two tournament shutouts were the 16th and 17th of the season for the Tigers.
- The conference championship is the 28th for the Trinity women's soccer program, equaling the 28 won by Trinity men's tennis and representing the most by any one program in SCAC history.
- In the SCAC postseason tournament, Trinity holds a 30-1-2 record.
- This marked the eighth consecutive year the championship winning team has not allowed a goal scored during the tournament.
- The Tigers earn their 28th NCAA Tournament bid since 1992.
