CHANTZ
SINGLETARY OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a 5-10,
177-pound freshman cornerback from Houston, Texas has been selected
the SCAC Football Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played
Saturday, November 2nd.
Singletary set the TLU DIII era record for pass
breakups, with seven, and added a key interception that led to a
touchdown late in the first half.
Singletary intercepted LC’s Easton Melancon
at the LC 42 with less than 30 seconds to play in the first half.
Singletary returned the pick 36 yards to the LC 6. TLU scored a
play later on a Trenton White pass to Cameron Peavy to take a 21-7
lead going into halftime.
Singletary also added five solo tackles as the
Bulldogs improved to 7-0 with a 37-27 win over Louisiana
College.
