SHAVONNE RESPONDEK OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior setter/outside hitter from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 11 through Sunday, September 17. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 3)

Respondek recorded at least a double-double in each match this weekend to lead the Bulldogs to a 3-1 record in the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational.  The versatile Respondek had 25 kills, 74 assists and 65 digs in TLU's four matches and on Friday recorded her first career triple-double against host Cal Lutheran in a 3-0 TLU sweep with 11 kills, 14 assists, 10 digs while also adding two blocks.

Respondek's performance against Cal Lutheran marked the first triple double in the SCAC this season and just the third since 2021. Emma Parsons of Dallas posted the last triple double by a SCAC volleyball student-athlete when she went for 13 kills, 18 digs and 13 assists against Schreiner on Oct. 21, 2022.  

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior outside hitter Mackenzie Logan of Trinity made her season debut this weekend, leading the 12th-ranked Tigers to a 4-0 weekend at the Trinity Fall Classic, capped by a win over #13 MIT in the tournament finale. Logan was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts, which included leading Trinity with 44 total kills and 3.38 kills/set. She also finished with 3.42 points/set. Logan had double-digit kills in three of the four matches, including a career-high 17 kills in the win over #13 MIT. Senior outside hitter Cassie Dyoub of Dallas led the Crusaders to two wins at the Millsaps Invitational, averaging 4.00 kills per set while hitting .197 to help Dallas improve to 8-3 on the year. Junior middle blocker Elizabeth Canady of Centenary capped off an impressive weekend by posting a superb .412 hitting percentage with only one error in 17 total attacks against Mary Hardin-Baylor on Sunday. She added eight kills and a pair of solo blocks against the Cru which followed Saturday's performances which totaled 18 kills, four digs, an assist, and a solo block against Lyon and Hendrix. Sophomore outside hitter Audrey Cataline of St. Thomas led a Celt offense, scoring 27.5 total points (6.9 points/set) and posting a career-high 26 kills and a .382 hitting percentage, in a key non-conference victory against Cal Lutheran. On the week, she had 43 kills (3.91 per set) and totaled 48.5 points. First-year outside hitter Giana Hillard of Schreiner had 11 kills and hit .407 as the Mountaineers defeated Howard Payne, 3-1 in their only match of the week.
