Dyoub
led the Crusaders to a four wins and an undefeated opening weekend, averaging 3.71 kills per set while hitting .317 over the four matches, including a huge 13-kill, .423 attack performance in a sweep of Lyon College on Saturday. Later that day, Dyoub posted 17 kills and a .255 hitting percentage as Dallas bounced back from a 2-0 deficit to take a dramatic five-set victory against Sul Ross to close their perfect start to the season.

Dallas is 4-0 for the first time since joining the SCAC prior to the 2011 season. The last time the Crusaders volleyball program opened with a stronger start was the 2010 season when that squad started the year 12-0.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore outside hitter Audrey Cataline of St. Thomas had impressive opening weekend as the Celts went 2-0 against LeTourneau. The second-year posted 33 kills and an impressive 35.5 total points in two matches, leading the Celts with a .231 hitting percentage and a whopping 4.4 points per set. Senior outside hitter Emily Mixon of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs to a 2-1 weekend with 32 kills on a .320 hitting percentage. She posted a career-high 16 kills, while hitting .351, in a five-set thriller against Whitworth, which included six kills and a block in the decisive final set. First-year middle blocker Courtney Pope of Trinity was named to the All-Tournament Team as the second-ranked Tiger volleyball went 3-1 at its season-opening Trinity National Invitational over the weekend. Trinity's lone loss came against #15 Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Pope totaled 30 kills (2.31/set) and a .280 hitting percentage for the weekend, highlighted by 11 kills and a .333 hitting % against UTD. She also hit .353 and had eight kills in her collegiate debut against Whitworth on Friday. Senior outside hitter Riley Abernethy of Austin College helped the 'Roos to a 4-0 start to open the season, averaging 2.78 kills and 3.11 digs-per-set. She hit .265 in the three matches in which she appeared, totaling 25 kills and 28 digs while also adding four service aces and three blocks on the weekend. Sophomore setter Meadow Smith of Centenary led the Ladies to a 2-2 record in the team's home Country Cajun Classic. In four matches, she totaled 117 assists, 47 digs, 11 kills, and finished with a .321 hitting percentage. She added six service aces and committed just two errors in 28 total attacks. Smith tallied 26+ assists in each match and posted double-digit digs three times. Sophomore middle blocker Andie Valenzuela of Southwestern, returning to her home state of California for the Pacific Coast Classic, earned All-Tournament Team honors and helped secure a win over Pomona-Pitzer (who received top 25 votes) with 14 kills, three service aces and two block assists. Valenzuela notched 28 kills, and a combination of nine block solo/assists and eight service aces in three matches. Senior outside hitter Keeley Kandziora of Colorado College finished second on the team with 51 kills, including a season-high 21 against Hardin-Simmons, as the Tigers went 2-2 last weekend at the Pikes Peak Challenge. She hit .279 during the weekend and added 30 digs.
