Senior utility Viviana Rivero of Centenary got off to a hot start this weekend as she led the Ladies to a season-opening sweep in a home doubleheader against Millsaps on Saturday. Rivero hit .571 (4-for-7) with four RBI and a run scored. In game two of the doubleheader, she had a two-run single and a sacrifice fly as she finished 2-for-3 with three RBI in the Ladies' 10-3 win. Senior Leah Gonzalez of Trinity was a force at the plate over the weekend, producing a .500 batting average (4-for-8) which included a double and three RBI. She slugged .625 and had a 1.025 OPS. Gonzalez also had two sacrafice flies and stole a bag. Junior outfielder Rebecca Archibald of St. Thomas delivered at the plate, hitting .500 across four games (5-for-10) with two runs and an RBI. She also recorded a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with nine putouts. Senior outfielder/first baseman Allison Cowart of Ozarks hit .364 (4-for-11) with a pair of RBI in four games over the weekend. Cowart recorded at least one hit in each of the Eagles' first three games of the season.
