Junior Alicia Plotky scored a hat trick and also recorded two assists in the shutout. Freshman goalkeeper Richelle Byrd picked up the win and her third shutout of the season. The Panthers are on the road this weekend to open league play against Austin College, then take on University of Dallas on the road on Sunday.

Centre
recorded two road wins this past weekend. Saturday afternoon in Hanover, Ind. Centre defeated Hanover College 1-0.  Sunday afternoon in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Colonels earned their second win by defeating the College of Mount Saint Joseph 4-0. Centre begins conference play Friday evening, September 24th at home against Sewanee. They will then face Oglethorpe on Sunday afternoon.

Two first-half goals lifted DePauw to its second shutout of the season as the squad captured a 3-0 victory over Ohio Wesleyan at Boswell Field. With the win, the Tigers improved to 2-3. Dana Sprague got DePauw on the board nine minutes into the contest, scoring on an assist from Julia Drummond. Angela Cotherman followed up with an unassisted score at the 28:34 mark, and Drummond added a goal of her own in the second half to secure the 3-0 victory. The Tigers held a 12-3 advantage in shots and recorded eight corners, while Ohio Wesleyan had two. Lauren Palfrey posted her second win of the season in goal for DePauw.

Hendrix
took the week off from action. The Warriors will return to the pitch to face Lyon College on the road Monday afternoon.

Millsaps
split the week 1-1 with a home win on Tuesday over cross-town rival Belhaven University, 3-2, and a loss on the road at Centenary 1-0 on Sunday. Freshman Whitney Murchison had the game-winner over the Blazers with a deflected ball in front of the Belhaven keeper to secure the Majors’ fifth win of the season. Millsaps outshot Belhaven 10-7, and had an astonishing 12-1 ratio of corner kicks over Belhaven. The goalkeepers from both sides showed a strong performance at four saves each in 90 minutes. The Majors will return to the pitch this Friday as they travel to Texas to take on the University of Dallas Crusaders at 4:00 p.m.

Oglethorpe
set a school record for best start to a season by winning two more contests this past week to push their record to 6-0 on the season. They topped Spelman 3-2. As they have all season long, the Petrels struck first when freshman Katie Muller recorded the first goal of her collegiate career in the game's 21st minute off an expertly played corner that bent past the Spelman keeper. After Spelman equalized in the 31st minute, freshman Clara St. Urbain continued her scoring assault in the 37th minute on an unassisted goal that is her fifth in five games. In the second half, freshman Lexie Craig posted her first career goal on a nice assist from St. Urbain in the 52nd minute to give Oglethorpe a 3-1 advantage. Spelman fought back, however, and made it a 3-2 game in the 68th minute. Then, as time ticked below three seconds remaining, senior goalkeeper Sarah Nania had to push a Spelman shot over the bar to preserve the victory. On Friday, Oglethorpe blanked Huntingdon in Montgomery, Ala., 5-0. Five different players scored for the Petrels as Brittany Brotherton, Alexandria Vassell, Mary Beth Horton, Eliza Newland and Cassie Della Fortuna each found the back of the net twice.

Rhodes
came up on the short end of two closely battled games this past week.  The Lynx traveled to cross-town Division II rival, Christian Brothers University, on Wednesday night.  Despite controlling a majority of the game, the Lynx could not find the back of the net. Christian Brothers was able to capitalize on the only Rhodes mistake of the night halfway through the first half, and held on for the 1-0 victory. Rhodes goalkeeper, Stephanie Sermonet, made 7 saves on the night. The Lynx traveled to #19 Emory University on Sunday afternoon. Emory would take the 1-0 lead in the 19th minute after converting a penalty kick. Rhodes was able to create some opportunities themselves, as junior Cat Rickenbacker headed a corner just wide 15 minutes into the second half.  After pushing numbers forward, Emory was able to gain a late counter-attack goal, securing the 2-0 win over the Lynx. Rhodes drops to 2-4 after the week.

Sewanee
went 1-1 on the weekend after falling to Milligan on Friday, 3-2 in overtime, and defeating Maryville College 2-0 on Saturday. Sewanee’s Layne Ezzell put the Tigers on the board first against Milligan but Milligan’s Hannah Kellogg tied it at 1-1 before halftime. Faith Spencer put Sewanee up 2-1 one minute into the second half, but Kellogg scored again for Milligan and regulation ended in a 2-2- tie. Milligan needed only six minutes of overtime before Lauren Lameier scored the game-winner, downing Sewanee 3-2. Sewanee finished with 27 shots on goal and 11 saves. On Saturday, the Tigers topped Maryville College 2-0 behind goals from Faith Spencer and Fritsl Butler. Sewanee is now 4-2-0 on the season and opens up SCAC play on Friday when they visit Centre College.

Southwestern
played host to regional-opponent UC Santa Cruz on Sunday afternoon and despite having many great looks at the goal the game ended tie 1-1. Southwestern's goal came when midfielder Danielle Madison stole a pass from the Banana Slugs and put a through ball to Ashley Gallegos who collected it and two-touched before placing it perfectly past the keeper into the back of the net. Santa Cruz responded with an unassuming goal of their own that seemed to catch everyone off guard to tie the game up. Both teams had numerous chances to take the victory but shots were just off target including Maria Pollifrone's shot after a free kick that hit the cross bar with minutes remaining in regulation. SU now sits at 3-1-1 on the year and open up SCAC action at Rhodes on Friday afternoon and Hendrix on Sunday.

#19 Trinity opened up its home schedule with a 5-0 win over UC-Santa Cruz on Friday night in San Antonio. The Tigers scored four times in the second half to break open a close game through the first 45 minutes of play.  Kelly Watts was the first of five Tiger players to score goals in the game, in the 30th minute.  Jordan Azar added an insurance goal early in the second period to seal the win. Trinity travels to Hendrix and Rhodes this weekend, opening up SCAC play on the road.  The Tigers shut out both Hendrix and Rhodes to finish the regular season last year, but lost a 1-0 game at Rhodes in 2008.  Since the 1991 season, Trinity is 19-0 overall against Hendrix, and 17-2 against Rhodes.  Both Tiger losses to Rhodes have come on the road.
