GRAND LAKE, Colo. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) placed 10 student-athletes on the 2011 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III All-Region teams. Colorado College and Sewanee placed a league-high three players on the All-Region teams.
The SCAC was well represented as a league. Not only did 10
student-athletes make the teams, but four of the league's five
lacrosse teams had at least one student-athlete selected in the
conferences first year to sponsor lacrosse. Birmingham-Southern
College (2) and Centre College (2) joined Colorado College and
University of the South with being represented on the All-Region
teams.
Seven student-athletes were named First-Team All-Region including
Colorado College's Abby Fink (West Region),
Birmingham-Southern's Stephanie Gore (West
Region), Colorado College's Grace Maloney (West
Region), Centre's Sarah Mastey (West Region),
Sewanee's Hanna Moran (West Region),
Birmingham-Southern's Chelsea Van Voorhis (West
Region) and Sewanee's Meg Welton (West
Region).
