Austin College clinched the three seed in the SCAC West over the weekend with a win over Millsaps before falling in a double overtime thriller against Hendrix. The 'Roos came back from a halftime deficit to pick up a 62-54 win over the Majors on Friday thanks to 61.9% shooting from the field as a team in the second half. The 'Roos, who are now 11-13 overall, finish up the regular season with a make up game against the University of Dallas on Tuesday night.

Birmingham-Southern clinched the SCAC regular season title on Sunday, defeating Centre 67-63 in its 30th-straight home win. The Panthers also defeated DePauw on Friday and Atlanta Christian on Monday. BSC, who is not eligible for NCAA post-season play until next season, still has a handful of games on its schedule as the Panthers travel to face New Orleans this Thursday, then take part in a postseason provisional tournament next weekend, hosted by Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.

No. 23 Centre split a pair of SCAC road games defeating Rhodes 59-51 Friday night before falling 67-63 to Birmingham Southern Sunday in a game that decided the SCAC Eastern Division season champion. The Colonels have now won 12 straight over the Lynx. Birmingham Southern shot 44.4% from the field in Sunday's win. Of Centre's five losses this season, its opponent has shot 40.0% or better in four of them. The Colonels will open the conference tournament against Hendrix at 6 p.m. CT, a team which they defeated 68-56 in Danville earlier this season.

Colorado College snapped its five-game skid with victories against Hendrix and Millsaps. Nick Rose poured in 37 points and Brady Ohlsen posted his sixth double-double of the season to help CC hang on for an 84-80 victory over Hendrix on Friday. Rose, who eclipsed the 30-point barrier for the 11th time in his career, scored 25 in the first half to keep the Tigers within striking distance. Ohlsen broke the Colorado College record for career rebounds during Sunday's 74-56 victory over Millsaps in the regular season finale. It took him just under eight minutes to collect his third rebound and surpass Elliott Broadnax's total of 739. Ohlsen finished the game with a team-high seven rebounds and pushed his career total to 744. Ryan Milne scored 11 points and dished out a pair of assists to go over the 100-assist mark for the season. Senior Austin Perkins made his first appearance of the season and recorded three points, a rebound and a steal.

DePauw split its final SCAC games with a 71-63 loss at Birmingham-Southern and a 47-43 win at Rhodes. Against BSC, Drew Wills led DePauw with 17 points, while Ryan Sever added 15 and Sean Haseley followed with 12. Sever matched a career-high with 11 rebounds for a double-double. In the win at Rhodes, DePauw scored 15 straight points in a six-minute stretch of the second half to erase a seven-point deficit on the way to the victory. The Lynx closed the gap to 42-41 with just over two minutes remaining, but the Tigers scored four straight and held on for the win. Sever led the Tigers with 19 points, while Haseley added 11 and Michael Wilkison grabbed a career-best seven rebounds. Ross Simpson led the way with five assists. The Tigers shot 41 percent from the floor including 57.9 percent in the second half. DePauw hit 7-of-11 three-pointers in the second half and 9-of-20 for the game.

Hendrix picked up a huge win on Sunday at Austin College to clinch a spot in the SCAC Tournament as the No. 4 West seed. The Warriors dropped a close game at Colorado College on Friday night and entered Sunday in a must-win situation. Hendrix survived two overtime periods to earn a 76-74 win at Austin. The Warriors (10-15, 5-11 SCAC) came back from a five-point deficit with just under five minutes left in regulation and owned a three-point lead, 62-59, with 1:40 left on the clock. Austin junior Josh Saunders scored a 3-point play the hard way to tie the game and both teams missed on their last possession in regulation. Colorado College's Nick Rose scored 37 points in 37 minutes and a 19-5 run in the second half proved just enough to outlast Hendrix, 84-80, on Friday.

Millsaps dropped a pair of SCAC road contests to finish out the regular season portion of their schedule. Unfortunately for the Majors, they finished one game back of Hendrix for the final SCAC Tournament berth out of the West Division. Millsaps dropped a 62-54 contest to Austin College and was led by Taylor Meades' 19 points on 6-of-14 shooting (3-of-7 from three point range). Millsaps outrebounded the Kangaroos, 37-36 but could not overcome the white-hot shooting of Austin College. AC shot an astounding 61.9 percent (13-of-21) in the second half and finished the game shooting 53 percent. Against Colorado College, Millsaps fell behind 40-17 at the half and could not recover in losing 74-56.

Oglethorpe concluded its regular season on Saturday night by topping Sewanee, 74-67. The Petrels held a two point halftime lead (24-22) but trailed by two (42-40) with 10:30 to play before a 13-0 spurt guided Oglethorpe to victory. The second stanza was similarly close until the Tigers scored 7 of 11 points to forge a 42-40 lead with 11:11 to play. That's when the Petrels began their 13-0 spurt that was sparked by forcing 6 Tiger turnovers over their next 8 possessions to eventually open up a 58-45 lead with 3:30 remaining. Alec Pitts led four Petrels in double figures with 18 on the night. Andrew Steioff netted 15 and both Todd Ward and Alex Richey notched 13 points to lead the Petrels in the winning effort. With the victory Oglethorpe clinches yet another winning season at 14-11 overall. The Petrels will head to Jackson, Mississippi to face Colorado College in the first round of the SCAC Tournament on Friday at 8 p.m.

Rhodes dropped its final two SCAC games at home to No. 23 Centre (59-51) and DePauw (47-43) but still managed to grab the final SCAC Tournament berth from the Eastern Division. Rhodes finished tied with Sewanee but earned the bid via a better in-division record than their cross-state rival. Against Centre, Andrew Galow again paced the Lynx offense as he scored a team-high 18 points and tallied five rebounds. Kory Kilpatrick had 10 rebounds in the game. Rhodes shot just under 26 percent (7-of-27) in the second half but could not overcome the Colonels 33-35 halftime lead. Against DePauw, Kilpatrick paced the way with team-highs of 17 points and eight rebounds. The Lynx again shot poorly as they connected on just 7-of-27 shots (25.9 percent) in the first half. DePauw didn't shoot much better as they were 25 percent (5-of-20) in the first half. Rhodes returns to action on Friday as they square off with the #1 West seeded Trinity Tigers in the first game of the 2011 SCAC Tournament. Tip time is 1 p.m. CT.

Sewanee closed out the regular season this week by splitting its' two contests. The Tigers topped visiting Free Will Baptist College handily Tuesday night before falling to SCAC rival Oglethorpe on Saturday. Sewanee rolled to an 87-44 win over the Flames of Free Will, as every Tiger found the scoring column and six finished in double-figures. Sam Martin led Sewanee in the win, grabbing 15 points and six rebounds, as the Tigers shot over 50% in the contest. Tyler Brown finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Lewis Affronti and Anvil Nelson each had 12 points. Trent Williams chipped in 11 points and Bryan Beviacqua added 10 to round out the double-figure scorers. Unfortunately for the Tigers, Sewanee faced a different fate against the Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe. The two teams battled to a halftime score of 24-22, but the Petrels used a 24-8 run late in the second half to put the Tigers away. Affronti and Valentino Bryant led Sewanee with 17 points each, including five 3-pointers apiece. Trent Williams chipped in nine points as the Tigers wrapped up the 2010-2011 season with a 9-16 overall record and a 3-13 showing in the SCAC.

Southwestern closed out the season with a loss at Trinity, ending the year at 6-19 overall and 4-12 in the SCAC. The game was tight the entire night and Trinity made just enough free throws down the stretch to seal the 73-68 final. Robbie Hanley had a fantastic outstanding final game as a Pirate, posting his first double-double of the season with 23 points and 10 rebounds. This marks the end of Hanley, Nick Caputo and Jon Brown's collegiate careers.

Trinity finished the regular season by extending its win streak to six games, and will be the top seed in the West Division for the SCAC Tournament this weekend. The Tigers defeated Southwestern 73-68 on Friday night, earning a season series split with the Pirates. Trinity finished off the regular season with a  lopsided 70-47 win over the University of Dallas. Trinity will be the West's top seed for the second time in the last three seasons. Since the tournament format was revived in 2003, the Tigers have played in the championship game four times. The only game between Trinity and Rhodes this season was a 62-51 road win by the Tigers. In SCAC Tournament play, Trinity and Rhodes have met just once. That resulted in a huge upset by eighth-seeded Rhodes, edging top seed Trinity 87-83 in 2006.
