MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Sewanee's offensive line has been named to D3football.com's National Team of the Week for games played on September 4th. McClain Still, Max Jones, Yates Marr, Hunter Findley, and Atticus Frank make up the Tiger line.

Under the direction of offensive line coach Jake Wissing, the Tigers earned 420 yards of total offense, including 277 rushing yards, and gained 19 first downs on the day. Sewanee only gained 626 rushing yards total during the 2009 season.

The offensive line played a penalty-free game and gave up only one sack, while leading the way for eight different players to carry the ball. The Tiger rushing attack was highlighted by a 65-yard touchdown run by freshman Chad Morehead, who finished the day with 80 rushing yards. The line also led the way for two Zeke Wilson rushing touchdowns in the second quarter.

Still, a senior and team captain from East Ridge, Tenn. starts at center for the Tigers. Jones, a junior who missed last season due to injury, hails from Roswell, Ga. and plays at left tackle. Marr is a sophomore from Charlotte, N.C. who starts at right tackle while freshmen Atticus Frank from Clinton, Tenn. and Hunter Findley of Monroe, Ga. are newcomers to the line and start at left and right guard, respectively.

Head Coach Robert Black expressed his excitement at the players' recognition: "To have Zac [Atkins] named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week, followed by the o-line being named to the National Team of the Week represents how well the team is working together. To have both happen in the same week really speaks to how things are going in the right direction. It's great and it's a lot of fun to see them gain some recognition. Zac represents how well our defense played as a whole and the offensive line unit represents how well our offense clicked. We know this is going to raise expectations and it should absolutely raise our players expectations for themselves."

The Team of the Week is selected from nominations across the country and is based on outstanding performances within Division III each week. To read more and see all the honorees for week one, visit D3football.com
