Oglethorpe Men; DePauw Women Maintain Leads After SCAC Golf Championships Second Round

HORSESHOE BAY, Texas - The 8th-ranked Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels men's team and the 2nd-ranked DePauw University women's team maintained their leads after day two of the 2011 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Golf championships at the Horseshoe Bay Resort Rock Wood and Apple Wood courses, respectively.

Centre College's Chris Morris took the overall lead after the second round has he shot a +1 (72) to take a four stroke lead over Oglethorpe's Craig Stevenson. Stevenson shot a +10 (81). Rounding out the top five individual men's scores are Southwestern University's James Charles who shot a +8 (79) in third. Millsaps College's Drew Richardson and Trinity University's Tyler Lehmann are tied for fourth as Richardson shot an eight over par 79 while Lehmann tallied a +13 (84).

Centre (661) followed Oglethorpe (644) and is 17 strokes back of the team lead heading into the final round. Southwestern (675), Millsaps (681), Trinity (682), DePauw (683), Rhodes (692), Hendrix (720) and Sewane (759) rounded out the rest of the team field on day two.

On the women's side, the DePauw Tigers carry a team score of 639 and have a 22 stroke lead over 7th-ranked Centre (661). Rhodes (687), Southwestern (705), Trinity (718), Oglethorpe (752), Hendrix (818) and Sewanee (1,108) rounded out the rest of the team field on day two.

DePauw's Paige Gooch shot a second consecutive 71 and finds herself the leading individual entering the final round. Centre's Emily Bachert is second, just three strokes back of Gooch. DePauw's Kelly Gaughan, Rhodes' Stephanie Mingos and Centre's Allison Hancock are tied for third and round out the top-five individual scorers after two rounds.

Final round play resumes on Sunday, April 24 starting at 8 a.m. CT.
