MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Trinity's Ben Robinson and Garrett Biel have both earned a spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week, following their performances in the Tiger win at Birmingham-Southern on October 2nd.
Biel, a sophomore, earned the Special Teams honor while the
junior Robinson was chosen for the Defensive Team of the
Week.
The players were elected to the team following their performances
in Trinity's 38-28 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory
last Saturday at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Ala. It
marked the first loss of Birmingham-Southern this season.
Biel, from Clayton, Calif. hit a career-best 49-yard field goal
late in the first quarter to put the Tigers ahead 3-0, then went on
to hit all five PATs in the game. The 49-yard kick is the
third-longest in Trinity (Texas) history. Biel earlier was selected
as the SCAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Robinson, a linebacker from Coppell, Texas led the Tigers with 12
tackles (nine solo), and three tackles for a loss. Seven of
Robinson's 12 tackles occurred in the fourth quarter.
Trinity (2-2) travels to Seguin, Texas, Saturday for a 1 p.m.
non-conference game with Texas Lutheran University.
