Centre Men; Rhodes Women Lead After Day One of the 2011 SCAC Track & Field Championships

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Centre College men opened a 28.5 points lead over Rhodes College while the three-time defending champion Rhodes women are leading Trinity University by 11.5 points after the first day of the 2011 SCAC Men's and Women's Track & Field Championships being held on the campus of Rhodes College. The Centre men lead the team standings with 75.5 points, followed by Rhodes with 47 points. DePauw University sits in third place with 44.5 points, Trinity University currently has 32 points, and Colorado College is in fifth place with 22 points.

The Rhodes women currently lead with 67.5 points, followed by Trinity University with 56 points. Rounding out the top five places are DePauw University with 41.5 points, Centre with 35 points, and Hendrix College with 22 points.

The second and final day of the 2011 SCAC Track & Field Championships begins Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with field events and the track events begin at 11 a.m.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to being at approximately 3:30 p.m., following the men's 4x400-meter relay final.
