DePauw Fifth; Centre Eighth Heading into Final Round of NCAA Women's Golf Championships

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Top-seeded DePauw shot a third-round 332 and dropped a spot to fifth with a tree-round 997 at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort. Centre moved up to seventh place with a score of 1004, after being in eighth place the previous two rounds.

Individually, Centre's Emily Bachert a junior from Bowling Green, Ky. heading into the final 18 holes. Bachert who came into Thursday's round tied for fourth, had her best performance so far in the event, as she posted a 76 to give her a three day score of 235. She recorded an 80 on Tuesday and a 79 on Wednesday.

Rounding out the Colonels, sophomore Whitney Miller also had her best showing in the third round, finishing with an 83. She is tied for 31st with a score of 253. Tied for 41st place with a 256 is freshman Allison Hancock, who shot a 90 on Thursday. Senior Paige Burton and sophomore Lauren Mashburn are both currently tied for 79th place with a 269. Burton completed the round of 18 with a 92. Mashburn played well for the Colonels in the third round, as she recorded an 83.

Leading the DU Tigers, Taylor Beaty and Paige Gooch are each tied for 14th at 247 as Beaty shot a 79 today and Gooch an 82.

Camila Romero is tied for 26th at 251 after shooting 86 this afternoon followed by Kelly Gaughan in a tie for 37th at 255 with today's 85 and Natalie Gough in a tie for 41st with a 256 following today's 87.

Senior Stephanie Mingos of Rhodes College, playing in her fourth consecutive NCAA Championship, fired a third-round 80, her lowest round of the tournament to improve from a tie for 19th place to a tie for 12th (246) among all individuals heading in the final round.

Methodist leads with a 966 followed by Gustavus Adolphus at 978, Illinois Wesleyan at 991 and St. Mary's (Ind.) with a 992.

The fourth and final round of the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships will be played on Friday, April 13 at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fl.
