INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - With its second consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) men's lacrosse championship, the Colorado College Tigers earned the school's and league's first-ever bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship. Colorado College drew first round host and eighth-ranked Roanoke College (Va.). The Maroons, with a record of 14-3, earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's automatic bid into the NCAA field. Roanoke finished the regular season with a perfect 7-0 mark in a very tough ODAC.
The winner of the Colorado College/Roanoke matchup will advance to the second round where the Tigers or Maroons will meet the winner of the Gettysburg College (Pa.)/University of Scranton (Pa.) first round contest.
The Bullets (11-6) , runner up in the Centennial Conference and the 13th-ranked team in the nation, will host Scranton (9-7). The Royals won the Landmark Conference championship and automatic NCAA bid.
Colorado College, along with RIT (17-0), are the only two teams in the field of 26 that finished the regular season with an undefeated record.
First round matchups begin May 11 followed by the second round on Sunday, May 14. The quarterfinals start Wednesday, May 18 with the semifinals beginning on Sunday, May 22. The championship game will be played Sunday, May 29 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
