SUWANEE, Ga. - Millsaps College senior linebacker Will Hawkins was named to the 2010 Associated Press (AP) Little All-America team, the news outlet announced. Hawkins was the only Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference player named to the team.
The AP Little All-America teams are comprised of players from NCAA Division II, Division III and the NAIA.
Hawkins, the 2010 SCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year, also was recently named to the D3football.com All-South team as a first-team selection. He led the SCAC in tackles for the second consecutive season. His 117 tackles this season are the ninth-most for a single season in league history and his 84 solo tackles are the third-most.
Hawkins registered double-digit tackles totals in eight of 10 games this year, including a career-high 21 against DePauw on Oct. 21.
