SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Three Trinity University Tigers were elected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III Men's All-America Teams.

Junior midfielder Zach Garcia, first-year forward Yuri Ribeiro, and sophomore defender Denny Mask will receive special recognition at the NSCAA Convention Jan. 15 in Baltimore. Trinity and Stevens Institute of Technology led the way with three All-America selections each.

Garcia (Dallas/Lake Highlands) made the All-America First Team, having been selected last year for the Second Team. Earlier, Garcia was named to the All-West Region Team, and was honored as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He scored 12 goals (two game-winners) and accounted for five assists.

Ribeiro (Salvador, Brazil/Seaton Catholic; Chandler, Ariz.) is an All-America Second Team recipient. The All-West Region honoree, and SCAC Newcomer of the Year scored 15 goals (five game-winners) and registered five assists. He was ranked No. 18 nationally in goals, through games of Nov. 28.

Mask (Tulsa, Okla./Holland Hall), who transferred to Trinity from North Carolina-Greensboro, is now a member of the All-America Third Team. He was a key member of the taut Tiger defense which yielded only 18 goals (.78 per game). Mask added five goals of his own.

Trinity was the national scoring leader (through Nov. 28) in total goals (86) and scoring offense (3.74 goals per game).

The Tigers, led by 20th-year Head Coach Paul McGinlay, completed the 2010 season with a 19-3-1 record, and an 11-0-0 SCAC mark.

Trinity won its 14th SCAC Championship, and Coach McGinlay was elected SCAC Coach of the Year for the 12th time.

The Tigers competed in their 14th NCAA Tournament, and ninth in a row. Trinity opened the postseason with a 3-1 victory over Pacific (Ore.) at the Trinity Soccer Field. The Tigers advanced to the third round, 4-2 on penalty kicks over Texas-Tyler, following a 0-0 tie after two overtimes in a home game. Eventual finalist Lynchburg (Va.) upset the top-ranked Tigers 2-0 in an NCAA third-round game at Delaware, Ohio.
