Centre opened the 2010 season with two road wins against Great Lakes Region opponents College of Wooster (1-0) and Kenyon College (5-0).  Centre controlled both matches and received solid contributions across the pitch from its roster.  The Colonels outshot both opponents by a combined margin of 20-10 and held a 25-19 edge in penalty corners.  Sophomore Jessica McLean recorded two goals and freshman Courtney Kuiper posted two goals and an assist on the weekend.  Senior co-captain Cynthia Morse and sophomore Anna Fuller also recorded goals.  Chelsea Klein recorded two assists while Alexis Hebert, Sarah Humphries, and Barbara Parks each recorded one assist. On defense, Centre received outstanding efforts by Jennifer Bohnert, Parks, and Sydney White as the Colonels dominated both matches with great effort and discipline to start the season.  Patty Cowley recorded her first shutout of the season against Wooster and shared the shutout against Kenyon with Cece Lindsey. Centre’s next matches will see them host Ohio Wesleyan University on Sep. 11 and Denison University on Sep. 12 in Danville, KY.

DePauw opened the season with three straight shutouts as it defeated Wittenberg 2-0, Trine 5-0 and Lindenwood 6-0. Bridgette Shamleffer led the way with four goals, while Margaret Ellis had three goals and a team-high three assists. Three of Shamleffer's goals came in the win over Lindenwood as well as an assist, while Ellis either scored or assisted in each of the three contests. Liz Attewell recorded seven saves in goal for the Tigers in the three shutouts. This marks DePauw's first 3-0 start since 1999 and the first time it's posted shutouts in its first three contests since 1985.

Lindenwood University sophomore forward Kayleigh Harrower led her team to a 3-1 come-from-behind victory by scoring three goals in the second half after Hendrix College senior forward Katie Schaiff scored the opening goal in the first half of Saturday afternoon's season-opening game at Harlen C. Hunter Stadium.  Schaiff recorded the Warriors' first goal of the season in the 23rd minute off an assist from senior forward Abby Coleman, her sixth career assist.  Harrower scored all three goals without an assist.  She knotted the game in the 48th minute, scored the go-ahead goal in the 56th minute and then added an insurance score in the 65th minute.  Hendrix was outshot 19-6, and managed just two shots on-goal to Lindenwood's 12 on-goal.  Warriors' senior keeper Alyssa Havens denied nine shots, six in the second half.  Hendrix will have a chance at redemption when Lindenwood travels to Conway, Ark. in game two of the 2010 season on Sept. 11.

Rhodes split opening weekend with a 3-2 win over Randolph Macon and a 5-0 loss to preseason #12 Christopher Newport.  The Lynx dominated play in Saturday’s game outshooting the Yellow Jackets 14-5 and holding a 6-5 edge in penalty corner opportunities.  Libby Feaster scored the game winner on an assist from Lindsey Gurkovich.  Charlie Wagner and Libby Jones also had goals for the Lynx.  Marie Mason had an outstanding game on the defensive end of the ball.  Sunday’s match was tough for Rhodes, the Lynx were able to compete in the middle of the field but struggled in both circles.  Sarah Dockery played a great game in goal tallying 21 saves on the day.  Rhodes faces Denison and Kenyon at Centre this coming weekend.
