LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - It was a full weekend of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball play, with all 10 teams in action at Group Divisional’s hosted by Trinity and Dallas.
No.8 Trinity (12-1 SCAC; 24-4 overall) went 4-0 over the weekend as the host of the Group B Divisional with wins over JWU (3-0), Austin College (3-0), St. Thomas (3-1) and Texas Lutheran (3-0). Annie Rose Leggett and Avery Tuggle both posted a pair of double-doubles over the weekend. Leggett had team highs of 10 kills and 17 digs against Austin college while Tuggle posted team highs of 11 kills and 12 digs against JWU.
No.6 Colorado College (13-0 SCAC; 25-2 overall) was also undefeated over the weekend as the Tigers swept Schreiner (3-0), Centenary (3-0), Southwestern (3-1) and Dallas (3-0) at the Group A Divisional. Jordan Mullen led the way for the Tigers as the senior hot .348 and averaged 4,44 kills per set and posted her fourth double-double of the season with 14 kills and 12 digs in the victory over Dallas.
Southwestern (9-5 SCAC; 16-10 overall) went 3-1 with victories over Centenary (3-0) and Dallas (3-1) Friday along with 3-0 win over Schreiner on Saturday. Lauren Crabtree led the Pirates with a triple-double posting 10 kills, 10 digs, and 19 assists against Schreiner.
Austin College (7-6 SCAC; 13-15 overall) went 3-2 over the week, splitting matches over the weekend, with wins over Texas Lutheran (3-1) and JWU (3-0), along with a non-conference victory over LeTourneau earlier in the week. In the win over Texas Lutheran, Christine Royalty led the ‘Roos with 13 kills and four blocks.
Three other teams split matches in the Group Divisional play over the weekend.
Dallas (6-7 SCAC; 13-16 overall) earned wins over Schreiner (3-0) and Centenary (3-2). Abigail Porras led the Crusaders with a combined 21 kills and 14 digs over matches on Friday along with 22 kills and 22 digs in matches played on Saturday.
Texas Lutheran (6-7 SCAC; 16-13 overall) picked up wins over St. Thomas (3-1) and JWU (3-1). Lexi Morris led the Bulldogs with 22 digs in the win over JWU.
St. Thomas (5-9 SCAC; 8-16 overall) earned victories over Austin College (3-0) and JWU (3-0). Kaylyn Latin led the Celts with 30 digs in Saturday’s victory over Austin College
In Centenary’s (6-8 SCAC; 10-19 overall) win over Schreiner 3-2, Alyssa Davis led the Ladies with 22 kills and 14 digs.
All ten conference teams return to action this weekend, as Austin College hosts the second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Crossover.
