LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) selected a record 1,479 Swimming & Diving Scholar All-Americans for the 2019-20 year and 11 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference student-athletes were recognized. Full Release

Trinity University led the way with seven student-athletes earning Scholar All-America recognition, followed by Colorado College with three and Southwestern University with one.

The group of seven TU Tigers included seniors Elizabeth Nelson, Star Rosales, junior Mabel Fowler, sophomores Libby Goode, Maren Merwarth, Morgen Reyna and first-year Mya Tio.

The Trinity women's squad captured its 20th Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship in February, setting the stage for the NCAA Regional Diving Championship to be hosted on campus before the postseason was ultimately cut short.

Colorado College divers, Riley Wadehra, Jennifer Middleton and Peyton Classon were all named Honorable Mention Scholar All-Americans after competing at the NCAA Division III Region 2 Championships in February.

Wadehra, a senior from Wilton, Ct., earned an honorable mention for the fourth consecutive year. She posted her best results at the region meet this past season, finishing seventh in the 3-meter and eighth in the 1-meter. Wadehra, the 2019 SCAC champion in the 1-meter event, placed fourth on each board at the 2020 SCAC Championships.

A junior from Evergreen, Colo., Middleton finished sixth in the 1-meter and eighth in the 3-meter in her first appearance at the Region 2 after placing sixth in each event at SCAC Championships.

Classon, a freshman from Stillwater, Minn., posted the best regional finish ever by a CC female diver, placing fourth in the 1-meter event. She finished sixth in the 3-meter after earning all-SCAC honors with a third-place finish in that event at the SCAC Championships.

Southwestern junior Alek Argueta earned Honorable Mention honors following his NCAA “B” cut time in winning the 200-yard breaststroke at the 2020 SCAC Swimming and Diving Championships last February to round out the conference honorees.

To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.  Honorable Mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at their respective diving qualifying meets.

The selections were drawn from 282 colleges and universities across all Divisions.
