LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Four SCAC women's teams were on the course this week, with three of those competing at the Schreiner Spring Shootout at the 6,311 yard, par 72 Comanche Trace course in Kerrville.
St. Thomas (Texas) paced the conference contingent at the 11-team Spring Shootout, finishing in fifth place, just one shot behind fourth-place East Texas Baptist after rounds of 340 and 342 for a two-day total of 682 (+106). First-year golfer Xaviera Urrabazo paced the Celts with rounds of 84 and 83 for a 167 (+23), good for a tie for 11th in the 52-player field.
Senior Reygan Rodriguez of Schreiner was the top individual finisher of SCAC competitors, finishing in a tie for second place with a 159 (+15). Her second round 79 was one of just seven sub-80 rounds at the tournament as she led the Mountaineers to a seventh place at 696 (350-346). Dallas competed but did not have enough golfers to score.
Centenary competed at the BSN Sports Detaw Invite in Beaufort, S.C., and finished in eight place. The Ladies posted rounds of 432 and 405 to finish at 837 (+261). Senior Erin Rostro posted a top 20 individual finish with a two-day total of 184.
