Mullen Powers CC to Sweep of Centenary

Senior outside hitter Jordan Mullen smashed a match-high 16 kills to power No. 6 Colorado College to a 25-20, 25-23, 25-14 victory over Centenary College in its second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference divisional match on Friday afternoon.

With their 16th-consecutive win, the Tigers improved to 23-2 overall and 11-0 in conference play.

Meaghan Hohman finished with 11 kills, her third match this season in double figures.

The Ladies challenged CC in each of the first two sets, but each time the Tigers were able to win the pivotal points.

Mullen had six kills on 11 swings in the first set when Centenary trailed just 16-15. Colorado College took control with a 5-1 run and Centenary never got closer than three points.

The Tigers led by as many as four points in the second set thanks in part to nine more kills from Mullen, but the Ladies battled back to tie the score at 23-23 on a blocked shot by Ami Powers and Elizabeth Epley. However, CC closed out the set on a kill from Haley Harris and a combined block from Hohman and Georgia Mullins.

Colorado College utilized a 9-1 run in the third set to erase an early 5-3 deficit. The Ladies pulled to within three points, only to watch the Tigers close out the match with an 11-3 surge.
Haley Harris finished with seven kills and 10 digs.
