Trinity Women Hold Narrow Lead After Day One of SCAC Swimming & Diving Championship

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Trinity University women opened defense of their league title by jumping out to a slim 110-102 lead over rival Southwestern University after day one of the SCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championship. The Pirates took top honors in the 200 medley relay for the third straight year when Emma Frey, Rehgan Hartsell, Jesse Stovall, and Catherine Hiebel touched the wall in 1:47.42. The Trinity Tigers followed closely behind at 1:48.40 while Colorado College was third with a time of 1:50.06. 

The 800 freestyle relay saw Trinity set a new meet record as Morgen Reyna, Meghan Magill, Libby Goode, and Mabel Fowler finished in 7:36.27. That time also earned an NCAA-B cut mark. The win marked the fourth-straight victory for the Texas Tigers in the event. Southwestern finished in second at 7:49.11 while the Colorado Tigers were third clocking in at 7:52.95. 

The team standings after the first two events are as follows:

3) Colorado College - 88
4) Centenary College - 80
5) Austin College - 72
6) McMurry University - 60 
7) University of the Ozarks - 52
