LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Six SCAC men's teams were on the court with only Southwestern and St. Thomas posting victories in a light week of action.

The Southwestern University men swept University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, 9-0, on Saturday morning, giving the Pirates their second win of the season.

After sweeping doubles, Alexis Dimanche played a hard-fought match at No. 1 singles and won (6-3, 6-2) over Cody Aaron, and Hunter Bajoit was the only Pirate to take a clean sweep win (6-0, 6-0) as he defeated Robert Galligan at No. 2 singles. Dean Dulthummon, Steven Tibbets, Vesko Lekovic and Carlos Rodero completed the sweep at No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

University of St. Thomas improved to 2-1 in its inaugural men's tennis season Saturday with a decisive 7-2 victory at Schreiner. UST won five out of the six singles matches and took two of the three doubles matches from the host Mountaineers. Juanrodrigo Lopez and Quashi "Ayo" Philips teamed up to win their flight one doubles competition by a score of 8-5 over Schreiner's Luis Cabreja and Austin Cervantes. An 8-5 UST victory also occurred in flight three, where Michael Hopkins and Tyler Head put away Schreiner's Jack Johns and Chris Corbett.

In singles play, all five UST victories came in straight sets. Among the highlights, Lopez took his flight one match from Cabreja by scores of 6-2 and 6-1. In flight three, Hopkins narrowly defeated Schreiner's Carson Kirk 6-4, 6-4.

The 13th-ranked Trinity men were tested as the Tigers lost to top-ranked Tyler Junior College and Division I Abilene Christian University on Saturday.

The Tigers won #2 doubles against Tyler JC as Cameron Krimbill and Hao Nguyen took the second line line 7-5, and the team's only win in singles occurred in the third match as Wilson Hamilton took out his opponent 6-4, 6-0.

Trinity played outstanding doubles indoors against Abilene Christian. Krimbill and Settles won the second line and Hamilton and Akagi-Okuma took the third as the Tigers won the doubles point. Nguyen was Trinity's lone winner in singles, capturing the fourth match, 6-2, 6-2.
