LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Only one team competed in the final week prior to the holiday break with Trinity University hosting a trio of Division I teams at its own Holiday Invitational.
The Trinity men posted solid performances against NCAA Division I opponents Incarnate Word and Texas A&M University in a meet hosted at Palo Alto (Texas) College.
Spencer Steward broke the Tiger men's school record and the SCAC open record with his time of 2:02.78 that was good for second place in the 200 breaststroke. He also finished third in the 100 breast, finishing in a Trinity season-best time of 57.23.
Anthony Liva was the runner-up on both boards in the diving events, earning NCAA qualifying scores on both boards. He scored 278.05 points on the 1-meter and 293.55 on the high board.
Beau Tipton finished second in the 200 butterfly and third in the 100 fly. His time of 50.83 in the 100 fly is the fastest at Trinity this season, which also moves him to sixth in the Tiger men's record book in that event.
