SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Trinity University junior Keaton Holt has been elected to the 2019-20 Academic All-America Division III Track & Field/Cross Country Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Complete Team
Holt was chosen for the Academic All-America Third Team, following his earlier selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. He has also been on the Dean's List for all six semesters of his career at Trinity, as well as being a two-time honoree of the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team.
After finishing ninth to garner All-Conference honors at last fall's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, Holt also secured the 2019 SCAC Elite 19 Award for academics and athletics excellence. He earned the SCAC Fall Academic Honor Roll for the third consecutive season, and he has earned the same award for the Spring semester in track & field the last two years.
Holt is Trinity's first Academic All-American in any sport since the 2017-18 school year in which the Tigers had three honorees. He is the first track & field/cross country student-athlete to win the award since Justin Campbell and Elana Edwards were selected for the Third Team in 2012-13.
Head Coach Emily Daum led Holt and the Tiger men's cross country team to a runner-up finish at the SCAC Championships this past season, as well as an 11th-place finish at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Meet in Tennessee.
