LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The first full week of Men’s Basketball action in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference kicked off with thirteen games on the schedule. 

University of Dallas (2-0 Overall) went undefeated this week with a pair of wins over Arlington Baptist (83-56) and Hendrix (71-57). In their 27-point win over Arlington Baptist, the Crusaders were led by Dustin Mathis with 20 points with Michael Wambsganss added 17 points. 

Austin College is now 3-0 in non-conference play with a victory over Hendrix (81-74) on Sunday. In the overtime victory, Devin Roland and Justice Mercadel led the ‘Roos, both adding 17 points. Due to transportation issues the ‘Roos’ second game of the week against University of the Ozarks was postponed. 

St. Thomas (1-0 Overall) picked up a 94-74 victory over Concordia (Tex.) on Monday in the team’s season-opener. Nathan Ghavidel led the Celts with 23 points. 

Southwestern (1-1 Overall) split games over the week, including a 73-54 victory over La Verne. The Pirates held La Verne to 35.7 shooting from the floor, and Brandon Alexander lead the way recording a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. 

Texas Lutheran (1-2 Overall) dropped its only game this week, with a close 78-69 loss to Howard Payne. Sebastian Andrade led the Bulldogs with 24 points. 

Schreiner (1-2 Overall) lost its only game of the week, dropping a 92-79 decision to Mary Hardin-Baylor. Aries Frederick led the Mountaineers, recording 17 points with three other players scoring in double-figures. 

Centenary fell to Louisiana College (71-66) in its first contest of the season on Tuesday. The Gents were led by Ty Prince with 23 points.  

Colorado College (0-2 Overall) dropped a pair of games this week, including a 5-point loss George Fox, 87-82. The Tigers’ Aaron Acosta recorded 29 points and seven rebounds. 

In its only game of the week, Trinity (0-3 Overall) fell to UT-Dallas, 78-62. Ben Hanley led the Tigers with 13 points and six rebounds. 

The third week of SCAC Men’s Basketball action continues with 12 non-conference games on the schedule.
