SHREVEPORT, La. -- Centenary College director of athletics and recreation Marcus Manning has announced Morgan Crespo as head coach of the College's new cross country and track and field teams. Crespo will coach both the Ladies and the Gents' team in both sports which are slated to join Centenary's athletic offerings in the 2020-2021 academic year.

"In Morgan we've identified a talented coach who connects with today's student-athlete, and has the energy, enthusiasm, and grit needed to build a new men's and women's cross country and track and field program," says Manning. "We are excited to welcome Morgan to the Centenary Team."

From 2015 to 2017, Crespo served as head men's and women's track and field coach at Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vermont, producing four All-Conference athletes during her tenure. She was responsible for recruiting 21 new student-athletes to the team and managed all operational and fiscal activities for the sport.

"I would like to thank athletic director Marcus Manning and the entire search committee for giving me the opportunity to be the head coach of the new cross country and track and field program," says Crespo. "I'm ready to hit the ground running with recruiting. Centenary can offer athletes a phenomenal education and the opportunity to create a special program. Our goal is to bring in a large number of student-athletes who can immediately compete for a SCAC championship."

Crespo was also head women's soccer coach at Lyndon State College from 2016 to 2017, where she recruited a strong class of ten new student-athletes and fostered a cumulative team GPA of 3.4. Prior to entering the college coaching ranks, Crespo was head girls soccer coach at Esparto High School in Esparto, California, where she was named 2013-2014 co-coach of the year and led her team to the first conference championship in school history.

Crespo graduated from Lyndon State College in 2016 with a bachelor of science in liberal studies-psychology.
