Centenary Athletics Announces Head Coaching News

SHREVEPORT La. –- Centenary College athletics has announced two head coaching changes as Morgan Crespo, current men's and women's cross country and track and field head coach, has been named head women's soccer coach and current men's and women's cross country and track and field assistant coach Brandon Lewis-Graham has been promoted to head coach of the programs.

Crespo replaces former head coach Greg Cathell, who left the program last month for another head coaching position. Lewis-Graham was originally named Crespo's cross country and track and field assistant in August of 2019.

"I'm excited and humbled to be able continue my journey with the women's soccer program as the new head coach," said Crespo. I want to thank Marcus Manning and the athletics department for this amazing opportunity.

"We have a very talented group of freshmen joining our ranks in addition to our core group of veteran's returning so we're going to have a have a very special group and I can't wait to get started."

Crespo, a Chelmsford, Mass. Native, is a graduate of Lyndon State College Lyndonville, Vermont in 2016 with a bachelor of science in liberal studies-psychology, was named head coach of the cross country and track and field programs in August of 2019 and previously served as Cathell's assistant with the women's soccer program.

Crespo served as head men's and women's track and field coach at Lyndon State from 2015 to 2017 producing four All-Conference athletes during her tenure. She was responsible for recruiting 21 new student-athletes to the team and managed all operational and fiscal activities for the sport.  Crespo was also head women's soccer coach at Lyndon State from 2016 to 2017, where she recruited a strong class of ten new student-athletes and fostered a cumulative team GPA of 3.4. Prior to entering the college coaching ranks, Crespo served as head girls soccer coach at Esparto High School in Esparto, Calif., where she was named 2013-2014 co-coach of the year and led her team to the first conference championship in school history.

Lewis-Graham, a Shreveport native, graduated from Northwestern State University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. He was a part of Louisiana Tech University's track and field team from 2015 to 2017 where he was coached by 35-year veteran coach Gary Stanley and received the C-USA Spirit of Service award for serving in the community of Ruston along with competing in Conference USA. After two years at LA Tech, Lewis-Graham transferred to Northwestern State University where he was Student Athlete of the Month in September of 2018 as well as Southland Student Athlete of the Week. Prior to being a college athlete he was an assistant coach in the YOUth Fit program in Shreveport, teaching youth ages 5-17 the arts of long distance running and discipline through sports.

"I am thrilled at the opportunity to be the head coach of a promising track and field and cross country squad," said Lewis-Graham. Being native to Shreveport I know the great potential that this program has and I will work endlessly to make this program reach its full potential. For each of my athletes I will ensure that their time at centenary college will be a time that lives on forever,"

"My number one goal is to make sure the student athletes grow their character and learn the importance of discipline and consistency before they leave centenary and move on to the next chapter of their lives. "
