LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Three SCAC teams were in action to wrap up the fall portion of the 2019 men's golf season.
The Texas Lutheran men were in Rome, Georgia competing at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational at Stonebridge Golf Club. The Bulldogs finished fifth in the 19-team field, just one shot behind Birmingham-Southern College. The team fired rounds of 297 and 311 for a two-day total of 608 (+32) with sophomore Chase Maus leading the way with a five-over-par 149 (74-75) to finish in a tie for sixth in the 101-golfer field.
The No. 11-ranked Southwestern men's golf team improved its first-day score by 11 strokes, finishing sixth at the ASC Preview with a combined score of 597 to finish five over par. Each of the five members of the Pirates' lineup held steady or improved their their first-round score, shooting a 293 in the second round. Cade Osgood held steady with a 73 on both days, scoring a 146 with a team-high seven birdies. The senior All-American started strong, picking up three birdies in his first three holes.
University of St. Thomas completed its fall season at the Wayland Baptist Invitational where the Celts shot rounds of 307 and 298 to finish seventh with a two-day total of 605 (+37). Junior Bradley McCaleb led the way for UST, finishing in a tie for 15th in the 42-player field. McCaleb had rounds of 72 and 71 and completed the tournament at one-over-par.
