LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Despite weather playing a factor all 10 SCAC teams were in action last week, JWU hosted the Cross-Divisional and Centenary hosted the SCAC Crossover. 

No. 7 Colorado College went at a perfect 4-0 over the weekend at the Cross-Divisional. The Tigers defeated Dallas (3-0) and Centenary (3-0), led by Meaghan Hohman with nine kills in each match on Friday. Saturday the Tigers got a pair of wins over Schreiner (3-0) and Southwestern (3-1). Lizzy Counts registered 27 assists, in the win over the Mountaineers, becoming the third player in program history to record 3,500 or more assists in their career.

No. 11 Trinity went 3-0 at the Cross-Divisional, with its game against St. Thomas postponed on Friday due to travel obligations. The Tigers defeated Austin College (3-1), Texas Lutheran (3-2) and JWU (3-0). Trinity’s Avery Tuggle led the way posting double-doubles in all three matches, finishing the week with 46 kills and 37 digs. 

Southwestern went 4-1 over the week defeating ASC foe East Texas Baptist (3-0), on Monday, before going 3-1 at the SCAC Crossover on the weekend. The Pirates earned wins against Schreiner (3-1), Centenary (3-0) and Dallas (3-0). Freshman Emma White led Southwestern on the week with 51 kills on a .219 hitting percentage.  

Dallas is now 2-3 in conference matches after a busy schedule last week. The Crusaders played their conference opener Tuesday night, defeating Austin College, 3-2. At the SCAC Crossover Dallas, secured its lone win with a victory over Schreiner, 3-1, led by Ellise Anable 14 kills and 12 digs. 

Austin College is now 3-2 in SCAC play after traveling to Colorado for the Cross-Divisional. The ‘Roos have won three straight matches with wins against JWU (3-1), St. Thomas (3-2) and Texas Lutheran (3-2).

Centenary hosted the SCAC Crossover and is now 3-2 in conference play after posting a 2-2 record in league action last week the Ladies collected wins over Schreiner (3-2) and Dallas (3-1).

Due to severe weather in Huston, Texas, St. Thomas was unable to make it to Denver for the Cross-Divisional matches on Friday, but split contests on Saturday, falling to Austin College (2-3) and knocking-off JWU (3-0). Against the Wildcats, sophomore Kaje Massenburg led the way with 10 kills as the Celts collected the program’s first SCAC victory.  

Texas Lutheran went 1-2 at last weekend’s Cross-Divisional with the Bulldogs win coming against JWU (3-0). Sophomore Peyton Sulak led TLU against JWU with seven kills and four block assists.

SCAC Women’s Volleyball continues this week with eight teams in action, highlighted by a pair of conference contests as Schreiner visits Trinity on Thursday and St. Thomas hosts Centenary on Saturday.
