Lauren Crabtree Records Second Triple-Double of the Weekend in Win Over Schreiner

IRVING, Texas – The Southwestern University Pirates volleyball team bounced back from a morning loss to Colorado College to sweep the Schreiner University Mountaineers in three sets (25-12, 25-14, 25-18).

"Every match for this team is a learning opportunity and today we learned as a collective team about what we are becoming and where we need to focus our attention," Head Coach Don Flora said. "We give Colorado credit for putting pressure on us in key moments. We believe we can develop our eyes and thinking to match the level needed to succeed."

Against Schreiner, the Pirates hit a season-high .382 as a team, led by Elleanna McGown's 15-kill, 13-dig double-double. Emma White contributed nine kills on a .318 hitting percentage with six digs.

"Our two first-year outside hitters continue to carry a tremendous load for this team," Flora said. "We played one of our cleanest matches of the season versus Schreiner, showing the program's continued growth and playing with a ton of joy today."

Lauren Crabtree continued her stellar all-around play with her second triple-double of the weekend, recording 10 kills, 10 digs, and 19 assists. She also recorded three aces.

With the win, the Pirates improve to 16-10 on the season and 9-5 in conference play. Southwestern will step away from conference play on Tuesday, Oct. 22 for a match against Mary Hardin-Baylor. They'll return to conference play next weekend with four matches in Sherman, Texas on Oct. 26-27.
