LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Five of the league's eight men's golf teams hit the links for their fall debuts earlier this week with all five participating in the John Bohmann Memorial Tournament hosted by Texas Lutheran University.

TLU hosted Centenary, Dallas, Southwestern, Trinity and three additional non-conference teams for its annual John Bohmann Memorial Tournament, played at the par-71, Starcke Park Municipal Course in Seguin, Texas. The University of Dallas led all SCAC teams by posting a three-round total of 865 (+13), good for a second-place finish. McMurry won the team event with a three-round total of 853 (+1).
 
The Crusaders were led by senior Erik Hamm who fired rounds of 68, 73 and 73 to post a 214 (+1) and finished in third among the 55 participants. Sophomore teammate Trey Schneider finished tied for 13th with a three-round total of 219 (+6) after rounds of 76, 71 and 72.

Trinity's Daniel Nunez took tournament medalist honors as the freshman was one of just two golfers to navigate the course in under par. He finished with a three-round total of 210 (-3) which included a two-under 69 for Tuesday's final round to come from two strokes down to overtake McMurry's Lane Roye for the individual title. He led the Tigers to a third-place team finish as Trinity was seven shots behind Dallas at 872 (+20). Fellow first-years Holden Wisener with a 220 (tied for 17th) and Zac Bunder with a 221 (tied for 20th) posted top 20 finishes for the Trinity 'A' team.

Southwestern finished fourth - four shots behind Trinity - with a three-round total of 876 (+24). Senior John Kellum (216 - tied for sixth), sophomore Colin O'Hern (218 - tied for 10th) and senior Cade Osgood (219 - tied for 13th) all finished in the top 20 to pace the Pirates.

The host school, Texas Lutheran, finished tied for sixth after posting a three-round total of 878 (+26). Senior Nathan Haley (218 - tied for 10th) and junior Matthew McArthur (220 - tied for 17th) led the Bulldogs on the leaderboard.

Rounding out SCAC schools at the event, Centenary College placed eighth among the 'A' teams who participated. The Gents had rounds of 298, 306 and 298 to chart a three-round total of 902 (+50). Senior Reed Balcerowicz paced the Gents with rounds of 73-72-72 to finish at 217 (+4) and a tie for eighth.

Headlined by Schreiner opening its fall season, three conference teams head to Hobbs, N.M., to play in the the McMurry University Rockwind Links/Intercollegiate Sunday and Monday.
