Hohman, Mullins Lead Tigers in SCAC Opener

Meaghan Hohman and Georgia Mullins combined for 16 kills and a .518 hitting percentage to lead Colorado College to a 25-14, 25-20, 25-13 victory over the University of Dallas on Friday afternoon at Centenary College.

The Tigers improved to 10-2 overall and 1-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with their eighth sweep of the season.

Hohman, a first-year outside hitter, led CC with nine kills on 16 attempts and hit .438 in the process.

Mullins hit .636 with seven kills on an error-free 11 attempts. The sophomore middle hitter also had a hand in four blocked shots  

After UD pulled to within 11-9 in the first set, the Tigers utilized a 12-1 run to take command.

The Crusaders were within 21-20 in the second set after a kill by Ellise Anable, but Colorado College scored the last four points to take a two sets to none lead.

The Tigers hit .452 and had a 71 percent side-out percentage in the third set to overcome an early 4-1 deficit and close out the match.
 
Inside the Box Score
Colorado College served a season-high 13 aces.
Dallas became the seventh opponent to hit less than .100 against CC with its .052 attack percentage.

Colorado College Standouts
Senior setter Lizzy Counts dished out 25 assists and added two kills on four attempts.
Senior libero Anna Gurolnick led the Tigers with nine digs.
Junior right side hitter produced five kills, four aces and a pair of blocked shots.

University of Dallas Standouts
Ellise Anable hit .333 and led the Crusaders with six kills.
Krystyn Pua recorded a team-best nine digs.
