Southwestern's Thibodeau Named Capital One Academic All-America®

TOWSON, Md. - Southwestern University senior outside hitter Rachel Thibodeau was named to the 2012 NCAA Division III Capital One Academic All-America® Volleyball First-Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced today.

A psychology major with a 4.00 GPA, Thibodeau, earned AVCA All-American honors for Southwestern. Thibodeau was also chosen to the AVCA All-South region first-team for the second straight season. She earned All-America notice for the second straight season in 2012 with 392 kills and 351 digs.

A native of Richardson, Texas, Thibodeau was named the 2012 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year (All-SCAC first-team selection) and helped the Pirates to the NCAA Championship Tournament for the eighth consecutive year and a 24-12 overall record during the 2012 season.
