Southwestern Women's Golf Finishes Seventh At NCAA Championship

DESTIN, Fla. - The Southwestern University women's golf team finished in seventh place at the 2013 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship after the Pirates totaled a +28 team score on the final day of the tournament. Official Site | Results 

The seventh place team finish is the best finish for the Pirates since they finished fifth at the 2010 Division III Women's Golf Championship.

Senior Karissa Speck turned in a team best 76 (+4), just edging out teammate Kelsey Coburn's 77 (+5). Kelsey Coburn finished in a tie for seventh in the individual competition as she finished +24 for the tournament.

Speck was tied for 15th with teammate Bernice Leonard as the duo were each +28 during the week. Leornard finished the final round by carding a 79 (+7). Also scoring for the Pirates was Keeley Coburn who tallied an 86 (+14). Lauren Boone's 88 (+16) was not counted.

Texas-Tyler's Laure Lindsey won the individual national championship was she finished +8 four the week. She notched a final round score of 75 (+3).

In the team competition, Mary Hardin-Baylor, at +87 won the national championship. The Cru held off conference rival Texas-Tyler by eight strokes as the Patriots finished +95. Rounding out the top five was Methodist (+107), George Fox (+115) and Williams (+130).
