SCAC Places Five on NSCAA Women's Soccer Scholar All-Region Teams

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Five women's soccer student-athletes from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference were named to the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) Scholar All-Region teams, the organization announced this week.

Trinity University senior goalkeeper Katie Garrett highlighted the SCAC's selections as the Joshua, Texas native was named to the first-team with a 3.32 grade point average as a biology and studio art major.

Earning second-team honors was Trinity senior midfielder Lindsay Euers. Euers had a 3.69 GPA as a molecular chemistry major.

Third-team All-South honors went to junior forward Shelby Guenthardt of Trinity. Guenthardt was named to the team after carrying a 3.84 GPA as an engineering major.

Rounding out the Scholar All-South team were honorable mention honorees Jennifer White of Trinity and Ariel Marder of Austin College. White, a junior defender, carried a 3.96 GPA as an international studies major. A senior midfielder, Marder earned the honor while producing a 3.60 GPA as a biology major.
