SHREVEPORT, La. - Former Centenary baseball standouts Craig Littleman and Ryan Gasporra have signed professional contracts with the Alexandria Aces of the United League Baseball.

The duo has seen success in the early season which started on May 23. Littleman is batting .222 this season with a pair of runs scored and a RBI. The Leechee, Ariz., native has made starts at third base for the Aces. Gasporra is hitting .333 with four RBI and 10 walks. The Palmdale, Calif., has drawn starts behind the plate and as the designated hitter.

"I'm just grateful to keep playing and learn under manager Von Hayes, who had a successful big league career," said Littleman. "He knows a lot and that is important for a young player. The game is a lot different and a little faster than college ball, but I feel like I'm adjusting well. Developing a routine everyday is important when we play 90 games with four days off."

"I'm blessed to keep playing and I'm grateful for coaches at Centenary that helped get m e to the next level. It's going to be different playing 90 games in four months, but I've just got to keep working hard and taking care of my body. So far it's been a great experience. Von Hayes is a great coach who played 12 years in the big leagues. I think this is a great situation as a young player to keep learning and finding out what it takes to keep moving up in baseball. So far it's been a great experience."

The Aces are in the middle of the 12-game homestand to open the season. The squad is hosting the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings through the week before closing out the stand against the San Angelo Colts.
