SHREVEPORT, La. - Southwestern University, ranked 21st in the latest Golfworld Nike Coaches poll, and Trinity University both won their Saturday semifinal matches and will play for the 2013 SCAC men's golf championship tomorrow at Southern Trace Country Club in Shreveport, La. Results
For the first time in conference history, the men's championship
is being contested in a match-play format.
On a beautiful Saturday with tempatures in the low 70s, top-seeded
Southwestern University matched up against fourth-seeded University of
Dallas and second-seeded Trinity University tangled with
third-seeded Centenary
College.
Southwestern swept its five matches against Dallas, 5-0, and
Trinity earned a 4-1 advantage in its five matches against the host
school Centenary.
Southwestern will matchup against Trinity tomorrow with the
winning team earning the 2013 SCAC Men's Golf title. Centenary and
Dallas will play for third-place.
