SHENANDOAH, Texas - Austin Howlett earned
All-America honors with an eighth-place finish on the 3-meter board
on Saturday night at the 2013 NCAA Division III Swimming &
Diving Championships at the Conroe Natatorium.

Howlett finished with 433.90 points, a combination of his scores from the last five voluntary dives of the preliminary round and the six optionals from the finals.
The native of Makawao, Hawaii, earned a spot in
Saturday’s championship round by finishing seventh in the
afternoon preliminaries with a score of 491.85.
“Austin was really confident in the preliminaries,”
diving coach Ellen Walker said. “The adrenaline of competing
in front of a sold-out crowd got him a little too excited and he
over rotated some of his dives in the finals.”Howlett owns the program's 11-dive records on both boards,
Competing in front of a sellout crowd, Howlett earned 11
points for the Tigers, who finished tied for 37th place in the team
standings.
Kalamzoo College's William Guedes won the 3-meter title with a score of 572.50.
