Colorado College
stumbled out of the gate, dropping a pair of games at the Bon Appetit/Northwest Conference Tip-Off Classic in Oregon. Sophomore forward Chris Lesnansky poured in a career-high 24 points, but the Tigers dropped a 63-58 decision at George Fox University in the season opener for both teams on Friday night. Lesnansky tied the game at 52-52 when he knocked down a jumper with 3:28 to play, but the Bruins took the lead for good with 2:09 to go and built a five-point advantage on a three-pointer 35 seconds later. Junior guard Ryan Milne finished with 11 points and four assists. He climbed into 10th place on the program's all-time list with 222 assists. Senior forward Ian Rewoldt grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds, and recorded six points and four assists. Colorado College got off to a slow start and never fully recovered during Saturday night’s 81-53 loss to Lewis & Clark College. The Tigers missed their first four shots from the floor and committed four turnovers as the red-hot Pioneers raced to a 17-4 lead. Junior guard Jake Tramutolo went 3-for-6 from three-point range and finished with 11 points, sharing the team lead with Lesnansky. CC plays for the first time in the newly renovated Reid Arena on Friday night against Augsburg College in the opening game of the 2012 Thanksgiving Classic.

Dallas
(0-2) dropped both games on the week to open their 2012-13 season. Despite a 20-8 lead and junior forward Ross Davidson's double-double (19 points, 10 rebounds), head coach Jarred Samples' squad fell 80-69 to East Texas Baptist University on Friday evening in day-one of Austin College's Bob Mason Classic. Saturday afternoon (day two) brought more heartache for Dallas, as a 25-percent shooting percentage resulted in a 52-46 defeat to former SCAC-foe Millsaps College. With no games scheduled this week, Dallas will host Southwestern Adventist University at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27.

Southwestern opened the season against tough competition in Chicago, dropping both contests to start out 0-2 on the year. The Pirates opened with Chicago and played well, shooting over 55% from the field. The game was tied with 1:22 to play and Southwestern wasn't able to get the go-ahead basket as they fell 74-71. Sunday's contest pitted SU against #21 Washington University (Mo.). Southwestern fell behind early and couldn't get on a roll as they fell 85-54. The Pirates return to Texas to face Mary Hardin Baylor on Tuesday night before taking the rest of the holiday break off.

Trinity opened the 2012-13 season with a pair of tough losses at the University of Chicago Invitational over the weekend. The Tigers started the year with a 69-51 loss to 21st-ranked Washington (Mo.) University on Saturday, then fell short in a second-half comeback bid against Chicago, losing 64-49 on Sunday. The Tigers open up their home schedule on Tuesday night, facing Texas Lutheran at 7 p.m. The game will be the only one this week for Trinity, who will play four games the following week – including the SCAC openers against Centenary and Austin College.
