Marcus Whitehead Promoted to Head Coach of Tiger Track & Field Teams

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Director of Athletics Bob King has announced that Marcus Whitehead has been hired as Trinity University’s newest head coach of men’s and women’s track & field.

Coach Whitehead served as the assistant coach for the Tiger teams for the past two seasons, with the last year being his first as a full-time coach at Trinity. 

After a standout career as a student-athlete at Southwestern Oregon Community College and Eastern Washington University, he earned his Master’s degree from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

In Las Vegas, he coached at both Green Valley High School and Sierra Vista High School, coaching two relay teams and one hurdler to state championships.

Coach Whitehead is a USA Track & Field Level 1 Certified Coach.

In addition to his duties in track & field, Coach Whitehead will also assist the cross country program as needed during the fall season.
