LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Colorado College nearly came away with the biggest win in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's lacrosse history as the Tigers fell in heart breaking fashion to No. 3 Dickinson College, 11-10, on March 22. Dickinson scored with 40 seconds left in regulation.

Centenary (0-5, 0-2 SCAC) had the week off. The
Gents return to action on March 31 when they take on Colorado
College in a neutral site game at Southwestern.
Colorado College dropped all three of its games last week,
but the 0-3 record does not properly reflect how well the Tigers
played. Freshman goaltender Chase Murphy recorded 12 saves to keep
the Tigers within striking distance at No. 7 Salisbury University,
but the reigning Division III national champion Seagulls broke the
game open with four consecutive markers in the third period and
went on to post a 9-4 victory. Senior attackman Charles Curtis
struck for two goals and added a pair of assists to pace the CC
attack. Thanks to tallies by junior midfielder Jack Kreitler and
freshman midfielder Eric Neumeyer, both off of feeds from Curtis,
CC trailed just 4-2 at halftime. Two nights later, No. 3 Dickinson
College needed a goal with 40 seconds remaining to escape with an
11-10 victory over the Tigers. The Red Devils appeared to be in
control when they took an 8-3 lead with 4:25 remaining in the first
half, but Colorado College turned in a dominating performance in
the third period and tied the game at 8-8 when Kreitler scored with
1:30 to play. Murphy matched his season high with 16 saves, the
fifth time this season he has turned aside double-digit shots. The
game Colorado College would like to have back is Sunday’s 9-8
loss at Marymount. After scoring four consecutive goals to open the
game, the let off the gas and the Saints came from behind to grab
the victory. CC plays host to Concordia University on Wednesday
night at Washburn Field.
Dallas (1-4, 1-1 SCAC) fell 13-2 to Southwestern in their
lone game of the week, a Sunday afternoon affair in Irving, Texas.
Junior attack Tony Lemos provided both Dallas scores and now sits
fifth in conference with 14 goals. Crusader freshman goalkeeper
Ryan Murphy made 18 saves in a game where the Pirates ended with a
60-16 shots advantage. Head coach Jeff Guy's squad will host
Colorado College on Friday at 1 p.m.
Southwestern won its second conference game versus the
University of Dallas 13-2. Five Pirates, Alex Michael, Austin
Fox, Tyler Downing, Carter Cowan and Jamie Long, all scored two
goals while William Munck, Matt Zagurski and Jeremy Tuffnell joined
Fox, Long and Cowan with assists. AJ Cole had three saves while
allowing no goals in 30 minutes between the posts while Charlie
Fisher posted another three saves on five shots in the final 30
minutes.
