SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Trinity University women
dominated and took a commanding lead after Day One of the 2013 SCAC
Track & Field Championships.Official

The Tiger women took the top three spots in both competitions on
Friday evening, to earn 52 points and take a commanding lead over
second-place Southwestern University, who earned six points. The
University of Dallas is third with two points.
In the women's hammer competition, Trinity's Anecia Richardson led
a trio of Tigers in sweeping the top three spots. Richardson is the
first Tiger woman to win the hammer throw, posting a mark of 30.12
on Friday evening. Finishing second was Kelsey Oelze (29.84),
followed by Laura Campbell (27.55) in third place. The three Tigers
are the first in school history to earn All-Conference honors in
the event.
The women's 10K opened up the final session of today's competition, and Trinity took the top four spots. Rosemary Steup gave Trinity back-to-back individual championships in the event, as the Tigers won for the fifth time in SCAC history. Steup finished second to Maddie Murphy in last year's race, and this year it was Murphy who was the runner-up. Also earning All-SCAC honors was Michelle Oberndorf in third place. Genevieve Primeau rounded out the Tiger runners with her fourth-place finish.
The rest of the events at the SCAC Championships will be held on Saturday, with the first events beginning at 9:00 a.m.
